Now Accepting Registration for Hope and Heroes 2012
The Partnership is now accepting registrations for the Hope and Heroes awards in 2012.
The Hope & Heroes Awards were created from an alliance with Mercy Hospital Clermont Department of Behavioral Medicine, the Clermont Counseling Center and the Mental Health Association of SW Ohio to help fight the stigma of mental illness and to recognize those individuals in our community who have made meaningful contributions to individuals challenged by mental illness.

Statement of Mental Health America on the Tragedy in Arizona
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (January 10, 2011)
Mental Health America joins Americans in mourning the loss of those killed in Saturday’s tragic and senseless attack and expressing our wishes for the full recovery of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and fellow citizens who were injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives and everyone who is affected by these horrific events. And we join in applauding the brave actions of individuals who prevented greater harm.

Tucson Shooting Sparks Gun Laws And Mental Health Debate

Multiple run-ins with the law, a failed Army drug test and a ban from returning to his college campus didn't stop Jared Lee Loughner from passing a background check and buying a Glock automatic pistol.
Authorities say Loughner used that same semiautomatic on Saturday in a Tucson shooting spree that killed six and injured 14, including Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
